Unlock the Auto Feeder

1. Reach Ranching level 45 and check the current unlock notification.
2. Open Hayden's Shop and confirm the Auto Feeder is listed for the expected building type.
3. The current reference lists a 5,000t purchase price; use the live shop price if it differs after a patch.
4. Confirm that the target building is a Large Barn or Large Coop before buying.

Place it on the fixed wooden platform

1. Enter the Large Barn or Large Coop rather than trying to place the machine outside.
2. Find the dedicated wooden platform near the building chest.
3. Move the placement preview directly over that platform; ordinary floor tiles can remain red.
4. If every tile remains invalid, confirm the building is the Large upgrade and re-enter it before trying again.

Load food and test the next morning

1. Add a small, known quantity of eligible food for the first test.
2. Leave enough input for the animals housed in that building.
3. Sleep and inspect the trough after the next morning transition.
4. Compare the stored input with the trough output before loading valuable items.
5. Use the current animal status and product behavior as the final check before relying on the machine.

If the Auto Feeder is not working

• Placement fails: use the fixed indoor platform and verify the building is Large, not Small or Medium.
• The trough stays empty: confirm the feeder contains eligible input and test across a morning transition.
• Animals appear unfed: check the live animal status, the trough, and whether animals were called outside before assuming the feeder failed.
• Items disappear or convert unexpectedly: stop using valuable inputs and check current patch notes or the live item description.
